1st Inter-College Badminton Tournament 2024 concludes

A two-day long 1st Inter-College Badminton Tournament under the aegis of College of Arts & Technology (CAT) Nerhe- Phezha, Kohima concluded today at Indoor Badminton Stadium, Kohima.

In Boys (Single), Wapangmeren A Jamir, representing IGNOU Mokokchung bagged the first position and awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 20,000.

Sewang Konyak from IGNOU Dimapur stood second position and received Rs. 10,000.
Sunepbenla T Imchen from Fazl Ali College Mokokchung bagged the first position in Girls (Single) category and awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 20,000. Watisungla from IGNOU Mokokchung stood second position and received Rs. 10,000.
In Mixed Doubles, Watisungla and Wapangmeren A Jamir from IGNOU Mokokchung bagged the first position and fetched a cash prize of Rs. 20,000.

Imnawapang and Yalimenla from Fazl Ali College Mokokchung stood second position and awarded with Rs. 10,000.
Renchamo Yanthan from Kros College Kohima and Merari Nbung from  Kohima Science College Jotsoma were acknowledged with true/best fighter award for boys and girls category respectively.

They pocketed Rs. 7500 each sponsored by Col. Rohit Jakhar, Commandant, 45th Assam Rifles, Chieswema Battalion.
Col. Rohit Jakhar gave away prize to the winners at the closing ceremony.

Mentionably, 32 players from Alder College Kohima, Fazl Ali College Mokokchung, Kros College, Kohima, Kohima College, Kohima, IGNOU Mokokchung, IGNOU Dimapur, Unity College Dimapur, Don Bosco College Kohima, College of Arts & Technology, Kohima Science College, Jotsoma, Sazolie College Jotsoma and Modern College Piphema joined this tournament.

Meanwhile, organizing committee convenor Sungjemmenla Longkumer thanked the event sponsors, participants and all those involved towards the success of the tournament.
