Double delight for Vilasier Khate

Vilasier Khate won both the singles and doubles title at the 1st Late Dr Savizo N Yhome Memorial Tennis Cup on February 27. In the Men’s singles event, Vilasier defeated Iciraibe Salie to win the title on Saturday.
Vilasier then paired up with Thejaser Khate to defeat Vitsizolie Nagi and Zhaputso Khate and claim the Men’s doubles trophy as well. Menuovi Kire and Vizhasier Nakhro were also named as Promising Players of the tournament which was sponsored by late Savizo N Yhome’s families and friends.
Organised by KDTA and DDTA, and hosted by the Nagaland Lawn Tennis Association (NLTA), the 1st Late Dr Savizo N Yhome Memorial Tennis Cup commenced from February 25 concluded on February 27 with C Apok Jamir as the chief guest in the closing ceremony.
Jamir congratulated all the participants and organisers for a successful tournament and encouraged them to come out stronger against all odds even after a worldwide pandemic.
