DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 16 (MExN): The 1st Naga Silat Competition organized by Nagaland Pencak Silat Association kicked off on December 15 at the Immanuel Hall, Y Zhimo Colony Signal Basti, Dimapur. The competition was sponsored by the Department of Tourism, Government of Nagaland.
Dr Andrew Ahoto, President National People’s Party, Nagaland graced the competition as the special guest. Altogether 70 players and 12 officials participated in the event. The medal winners of the competition in Tanding event were: Gold medal – Echang Magdalene, Kinayala Aier, Zouzam Yala, Temennaro, Sungjemmenla Pongen, Liike Kibami, Kivikito, Litam Justin, Mhonyamo Kevin Ngullie, Ritodeep Bhattacharjee, Ronald Toppo, Jon, Kuputo Zhimo, Kevin and Imnatoshi Longkumer.
Silver Medal- Rahane, Shreya Das, Hoichem Aimee, Varshita Bothra, Anna Joy Phom, Hinokali, Sebastian Thatal, Hridhinandan Bhattacharjee, Eshan Kumar Singh, Mehboob Ahmed, Nito Awomi, Chithuyio Kajisho, Mintu Debnath, Kitenlo K. Thono and Ricky Ghosh.
Bronze Medal- Taochiren Aier, Henloi W Angya, Rachel Kikon, Lucy Grace Phom, Kezia Rai, Shazida Khatun, Rupa Thapa, Kezevino, Khyothungo Ethan Ngullie, Hike Awomi, Ashis Kumar Ray, Vinay Kumar Bothra, Bautok Melvin, Talimoa Longchar, Moakaba, Taposh Dutta, Dipraj Paswan and Sibom Das.
In Tunggal event Gold medal winners are Litam Justin, Varshita Bothra and Kevin; Silver Medal- Moakaba; and Bronze Medal- Aman Kumar Ray and Hike Awomi. In Regu event Gold medal winners are; Liike Kibami, Hinokali, Sungjemmenla Pongen, Chithuyio Kajisho, Nito Awomi and Ritodeep Bhattacharjee. Silver Medal - Rachel Kikon, Shreya Das, Kinayala Aier, Rahul Kumar Ray, Mehboob Ahmed and Hridhinandan Bhattacharjee. Bronze Medal - Taochiren Aier, Echang Magdalene and Henloi W Angya.
