Shillong, October 24 (MExN): The first Naga Wrestling Championship in Shillong initiated by Naga Students’ Union Shillong (NSUS) and organised by Naga Elders’ Forum Shillong in collaboration with Nagaland Wrestling Association was held at the Naga Community Hall, Nongrim Hills on October 24.

It was graced by Khriesaneisa Rutsa, Project Executive All India Radio North Eastern Service Shillong as the chief guest. Rutsa in his speech enlightened the crowd with the roots of the Naga Wrestling Culture and enunciated the importance of being firmly rooted with one's culture. He applauded the NSUS for taking bold steps in organizing such an historic programme. 

Kedokietuo Sirie from Angami Unit emerged winner of the 1st Naga Wrestling Championship in Shillong followed by Ludeto Sapu from Chakhesang Unit, Kevilhounyü Kuotsu from Angami Unit as second and third respectively.
