Dimapur, June 13 (MExN): The 1st Nagaland Inter-Collegiate Basketball Championship will kick off at the JV Foundation Court, Signal Basti, Dimapur on June 14 from 8:00 am onwards.
A total of 10 college men’s team and 4 college women’s team will challenge each other for the title of being the state collegiate basketball champions. “The tournament will start with hot favorites Kohima Science College women going up against a strong Unity College team from Dimapur,” Sentiningsang Longkumer, President, Dimapur District Basketball Association stated in a press release.
The three-day tournament will witness some of the best college basketball players in the state representing some of the top colleges like Don Bosco College and Oriental College from Kohima who would be starting as favourites against some of top contenders from Dimapur colleges like Tetso and St Joseph University.
The championship is organised by the Department of Youth Resources and Sports, Government of Nagaland in collaboration with Dimapur District Basketball Association.
