Peren, January 8 (MExN): The 1st open badminton championship 2022 organised by Team Rescue 14, in collaboration with Peren District Badminton Associations concluded on January 7. All together 40 players from Manipur and Nagaland participated in this championship.
In the men’s open double, the winners were Teichang and Peramrisi from Peren followed by runner up R Wikhonlung and Heikrujam from Manipur, AS Khangampam, Kingston Thono and Jogendra and Mangal semi finalist both from Manipur.
The boys under 15 single, the winner was Chamcham from Jalukie, runners up Esibe from Peren and semifinalist were Ricky and Josuwa from Manipur. The boys under 13 single winner was Lairenmayum Luwangamba from Manipur, runners up, Laishram Yaiphaba from Manipur and semifinalist, Josuwa from Manipur, Keyimbeuchu from Peren.
A press release received here stated that in the next edition, girl’s categories and men’s 35+ and 45+ will be included.
