Mhasimhalie Mathew Yhome and other dignitaries with the participants of 1st edition of SFS academy intra football tournament at Medziphema on November 15.
Kohima, November 17 (MExN): The 1st edition of the St. Francis De Sales School (SFS) Academy intra football tournament was held at SFS School Ground, Medziphema on November 15. Mhasimhalie Mathew Yhome, AFC- C Diploma, president, Kohima District Football Association graced the occasion as the chief guest.
In his speech, Yhome encouraged the students to adjust their study time and hone their talents and also encouraged the parents to support their children in the co-curricular activities. He encouraged the students to be disciplined and dedicated in their hunt for excellence. SFS Academy is run by Botovi Yepthomi as the Administrator, Ciu Zashümo AFC-C, FIFA Diploma in Football Medicine, Menovilie Talie AIFF-D as coaches and Chivine Kapfo as media and publicity secretary.
This academy was nominated as the best school in the 1st AFC Grassroots day for 2023-24. The intra tournament has been initiated to assess the progress of the students as well as to encourage the parents to support their children. The SFS football academy is under the Chümoukedima District Football Association and recognized under the Blue Club AIFF and also a member of AFCAI.
All the students in the academy were given a certificate of completion of the session for 2024 and all the winner of different categories ie U-10, U-12 and U-14 were awarded with certificates and medals.
