Shamator, January 17 (MExN): Marking the celebration of Tsüngkamnyo across the Yimkhiung-land, a significant event was held at Lower Soil Colony, Shamator town on January 17. Yanba Showuba, Advisor of Yimkhiung Tribal Council (YTC) and the children of late Showuba Hd GB gave away a plot of land area as “Gift Deed” to the twenty one “needy and displaced families” for settlement, stated a DIPR report.
The plot of land was presented in remembrance and as souvenir of their late father who lived an exemplary life of leadership and generosity in the area, it stated.
Yanba declared to name the given area as Showuba Colony and also took responsible for construction of the colony gate.
In the programme, Lashi, President Soil colony and C. Akhang, Hd. GB Shamator Town expressed their gratitude towards late Showuba’s children for their selfless deeds towards the fellow brothers.
Dr Jeeseha, Literary Secretary, Yimkhiung Baptist Borü Akukhungto (YBBA) graced the “Gift Deed” and Thrunso Showuba, Hd DB, Sotokur gave away the deeds to the settlers. The programme concluded with a thanksgiving prayer by C. Kiuthsang.
