21 vaccination sites set up under urban areas in Kohima

Kohima, January 16 (MExN): Under urban areas in Kohima district, a total of 21 sites, 16 at government health facilities and 5 at private health facilities have been set up for vaccination sessions.

According to a report from the DPRO Kohima, government session sites include NHAK, Urban Primary Health Centres (UPHCs), Seikhazou and UPHC Potterlane while Primary Health Centres (PHCs) included Bethal Medical Centre, Kohimas, K. P Bethesda, Oking and Putuonuo Nursing Home.

In the first phase, a total number of 3068 beneficiaries from the healthcare workers have been registered for the vaccination in district. A total number of 5240 Covishield vaccine doses, which includes 2nd dose also for the 1st phase have been received for Kohima district.

As per the guidelines from the Central, the session sites will be equipped with five team members composed of four Vaccinator Officers with defined roles and one Vaccinator Officer if the session load is 100-200 while additional team will be deployed if the session load is beyond 200. The Vaccination session sites to have three separate rooms, which includes waiting room, vaccination room and observation.

District Immunization Officer, Dr Rupert informed that Dr Sentimeren Aonok Senior Consultant (ICU) Naga Hospital (NHAK) and Governor's Medal Awardee received the first dose of COVID Vaccine in the State at NHAK. Khrielavonuo Angami, nightingale awardee 2019 also received the vaccine today.
