Wins for Donching Yangmei, United Tuensang
TUENSANG, OCTOBER 26 (MExN): Donching Yangmei FC ‘A’ blanked Upper Defence Chingmelen 2-0, while United Tuensang Tornados defeated 40th Assam Rifles 2-1 on Day 17 of the Loyem Memorial Senior Soccer Open Championship 2017 organized by the Confederation of Chang Student’s Union.
Tonching Yangmei FC ‘A’ returned with vengeance in the second half following a goalless first. The second half had barely started when Tonching’s Aolen struck the first goal. Five minutes later, Bendang Jamir extended the lead. Chingmelen’s Molong received a yellow card cautioning for foul play.
In the other match, United Tuensang Tornados edged past the 40th Assam Rifles 2-1. The Tornados made a sensational comeback following an early setback as the Assam Rifles went one up through a superb goal from LC Mawia in the 18th minute. The Tornados recovered well to fire home the equalizer in the 26th minute through Ayuba.
The winning goal came in the 58th minute with Longshi catching the AR defence by surprise though a powerful shot.
