2826 rakes of freight carrying trains unloaded by NFR 

Maligaon, August 6 (MExN): More than 2826 inbound freight trains have been transported by  Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) from March 25 to July 31, according to a press release from the NFR CPRO, Subhanan Chanda on August 6.

Out of this 682 freight carrying trains were unloaded during the month of July only. Goods like FCI rice, sugar, salt, edible oil, pol, food grains, fodder, pulses, fertilizer, cement, coal, stone chips, iron/steal, potato, onion, sand, gypsum, maize, pulses, auto, container etc were being transported regularly, the press release informed.

These items were unloaded in all the states under the jurisdiction of NFR to meet the local requirement of common people.  

The inbound freight carrying trains were unloaded at the goods sidings located in various states within NFR. This helped to avoid the scarcity of essential items in these states during the lock-down period. The freight loaded rakes were mainly un-loaded at various goods sidings like Dimapur, Jiribam, Bhairabi, Jirania, Katihar, Kishanganj, New Jalpaiguri, Rangapani, New Cooch Behar, New Guwahati, Changsari, Azara, Kokrajhar, New Bongaigaon, Barpeta, Rangiya, Silapathar, Dhemaji, Dekargaon, Gumto, Harmuti, Lanka, North Lakhimpur, Tangla, Haibargaon, Salchapra, Bokajan, Jagiroad, Furkating, Jorhat Town, Duliajan, New Tinsukia, Dibrugarh etc., the release informed.
