28th Annual NUSU-KC Sports Week concludes

Kohima, November 3 (MExN): The Nagaland University Students Union, Kohima Campus (NUSU-KC), Meriema successfully concluded its 28th Annual Sports Week under the theme “Stronger Together” focusing on ‘Plastic Free Zone’ on November 1. 


 The opening ceremony on October 28 was graced by Colo Mero, Director Life Sports, Kohima as the guest speaker where he encouraged the students by focusing upon the importance of knowledge on sportsmanship, a press release from the union informed. He later declared open the 5-day annual meet. 


Phongya M  Konyak, Asst. Games and Sports Secretary, NUSU, KC, presided the programme and welcome speech was given by Kaithin Newmai, Games and Sports Secretary. 


After five days of various competitions, Team Raiders was declared the overall champions  out of four teams. 


The closing ceremony was held by lighting a bonfire on November 1 by the NUSU Executives, stated the release issued by NUSU-KC Information and Publicity Secretary, A Lothungbeni Ovung.


The union also extended its gratitude to the 3AR (Naga Hills) for providing the tents, without which, it added,  the sports would have been incomplete.
