The Chakhesang Wrestling Association (CWA) today announced that the 2nd Chakhesang Open Naga Wrestling Championship 2022 under the aegis of Nagaland Wrestling Association will take place on November 4 at Pfutsero in Phek district.

The championship will also coincide with 4th “Peace Marathon” by Kalos Society Pfutsero and 1st Open Under-14 Naga Wrestling Championship on November 3.

The organizers extended it invitation to all wrestling fans across the state to join this mega wrestling event.
 
Peace Marathon
Peace Marathon for Men and Women on November 3 under the theme “Rhythm of Health,” will start by 8:00 AM at Sakraba and Porba respectively and culminate at Pfutsero Sports Complex, Pfutsero.

The Marathon will be in the form of Men 21 kms (Half Marathon (Sakraba) and Women 15 kms (Porba).

Prizes for both men and women: 1st- 15,000 each, 2nd- Rs.10,000, 3rd- Rs. 7,000, 4th- Rs.5000 and 5th- Rs. 3000.
There will be 10 consolation prize each for both category at Rs. 1000 each.

Registration fee has been fixed at Rs. 250.

Zaveta Kotso of Kalos Society informed that procedures for both offline and online registration will be updated soon.
Last date for submission of form has been fixed on October 31.

1st Under 14 Open Naga Wrestling Championships 2022
The 1st Under 14 Open Naga Wrestling Championship 2022 will start from 11:00 AM onwards.
CWA general secretary Kuzhovesa Soho informed that wrestlers in this event will be limited to 32 only.
It is open to all on first come first basis.
Any wrestling, I this event, must be born on or after 3rd November 2008, Soho informed.
There will be cash award and citation for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place holders.
The prize money is yet to be settled.
The idea behind this wrestling event under 14 years is to encourage wrestling at young age by providing platform at bigger stage and to  let them gain confidence and experience.
 
Chakhesang Open Naga Wrestling C’ship details 
The 2nd Chakhesang Open Naga Wrestling Championship 2022 will take place on November 4. 
Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, MLA and co-chairman United Democratic Alliance (UDA), Government of Nagaland will grace the inaugural function as the special guest at 9:00.
The champion will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh. The 2nd position will get Rs. 1 lakh. The 3rd and 4th position holders will be awarded with Rs 70,000 and Rs. 50,000 respectively.
Losing quarter finalists will receive Rs 10,000 each.
Last date for submission of form has been fixed on October 28.
CWA President, Vekhozo informed that prominent wrestlers like Kezhavizo Thevo, reigning champion of 1st edition CWA Open Champion 2018, Venuzo Dawhuo, reigning NWA Champion 2022 and NWA Open Champion 2021, PfusatoTetseo, Vekutho Soho and others will compete for the coveted title.
Prominent wrestlers from Karnataka, Delhi, Jharkhand and Manipur have confirmed their participation.
Registration form is shared through (WhatsApp) where interested wrestlers can fill up the format online or download and submit the form to any CWA officials.

Neizulo Therie and Rilo Therie of management team informed that entry tickets for 2nd edition of Chakhesang Open Naga Wrestling Championship 2022 at Rs 2000 (Donor), chair- Rs 500 and Gallery-Rs. 200) will be made available at Pfutsero Town (Airwave), Phek Town (M/s K. Varieties), Kohima Town (Eastern Computer Agencies), Dimapur Town (DK Printer Diphupar 'B'), Chizami Town (Life Enterprises), and Chozuba Town (Pharma Cure Pharmacy).
