Chümoukedima, November 20 (MExN): The Kohima Hornbills and Elite Cricket Club (CC) claimed victories on the second day of the 2nd Kohima Inter-Club Cricket Tournament 2024 at Sovima Cricket Ground, Chümoukedima.
In the first match on Wednesday, Kohima Hornbills defeated Missionshire CC by 40 runs. Batting first, the Hornbills set a target of 121 in 19.2 overs, with Sunep contributing 36 off 23 balls. In reply, Missionshire CC was bowled out for 81 in 17.3 overs.
Hornbills’ SS Alam was named Man of the Match for his 5-wicket haul, which included the tournament’s first hat-trick.
In the second match, Elite CC triumphed over Dapfhütsumia CC by 9 wickets.
Dapfhütsumia CC posted 114/9 and Elite CC comfortably chased down the target in just 13.3 overs, losing only one wicket.
Viketho Kechü of Elite CC was named Man of the Match for scoring 42 runs.
