The Inter-Department Badminton Club Kohima is all set to conduct its 2nd edition of inter department badminton tournament Kohima 2022 from July 22 to 23 at Nagaland’s Legislative Assembly (NLA) multi-purpose hall, Kohima.
Nagaland Higher Education & Tribal Affairs Minister, Temjen Imna Along will grace the inaugural function as the special guest on July 22 at 3:00 pm.
The programme will be chaired by Inter-Department Badminton Club Vice President Er Vipulhou Lhoungu. Welcome address will be delivered by Inter-Department Badminton Club president and convenor Shanavas C, Deputy Commissioner Kohima. Introduction of the teams will be made by tournament director T Imtisungit Ao.
Addressing a press conference here today, Shanavas informed that winners will receive Rs 15,000 while runner up will get Rs 10,000 for each category.

Departments invited for tournament
On behalf of the club, Shanavas invited all the departments including the directorates to join the tournament.
The purpose of this tournament is to create the atmosphere of comradeship among the departments to ensure that all the departments work in coordination. He said that the convergence of the various departments is needed for successful implementation of the various schemes and government programmes in the state.
Towards this, he said, the club wanted all departments to come and play, talk and reason together and get something beneficial for the state. He maintained that such tournament would enable the departments to know each other better and facilitate better coordination.
