2nd KPL: Capital Sixers, Central Hurricanes register wins

The Season 2 Kohima Premier League (KPL) under the aegis of the Kohima District Cricket Association (KDCA) entered second day today at Sovima Cricket Ground, Chümoukedima.

In the first match played between Capital Sixers and Oking Outlaws, Oking Outlaws having lost the toss, were put in to bat first.

Seyievizo again top scored with 67 runs off 49 balls and Epha supporting him scoring 35runs off 35balls finishing at 145/5 in the allotted quota of 20 overs. Thejasetuo, Keviselhou and Sangtsulen took 1 wicket each.

In the run chase by the Capital Sixers, the team easily chased down the target in 18.4 overs with Peter scoring 50 runs off 37balls, being helped by Imomenba and Dziesevotuo John, scoring 27 runs and 23 runs respectively.

Thupuluzo claimed 2 wickets, while Veri and Ketoukhriezo got 1 wicket each.

Peter of Capital Sixers was named “Man of the match” for his 50 runs off 37 balls.

In the second match, Central Hurricanes, after winning the toss yet again opted to bat first, managing to score a meagre 97 runs losing all wickets in 17.5 overs.

Kenendi scored 26runs off 34 balls, while Thejao added 16 runs off 12 balls to the score.

Imkumlong was the pick of the Ura Mavericks bowling attack claiming 3 wickets, giving away only 19 runs in 4 overs, while being supported by Sepichem and Tapitu claiming 2 Wickets each.

In the run chase, Ura Mavericks despite a getting a brilliant start by their openers, they failed to chase down the target, losing their wickets at regular intervals after facing problems from the disciplined bowling attack of the central hurricanes ending at 83/10.

Captain Moasosang of the Mavericks, added 22 runs, Tachuye added 14 runs, while Mengu Sachü and Tapitu added 13 runs each.

Captain of the Central Hurricanes, Vizale Shüya claimed 4 wickets giving away only 10 runs in 2.4 overs with a maiden over.

Kelhousilie also supported his captain with an impressive spell claiming 2 wickets, giving away only 5 runs in 4 overs and 2 maiden overs.

Vizale Shüya was adjudged “Man of the match” for his brilliant 4/10.
