Dimapur, March 3 (MExN): The 2nd edition of the Sovima T-20 Cricket Gold Cup began on March 3 at the Nagaland Cricket Ground, Sovima.
Whiskers CC, pitched against Razzlers United CC, won the first match of the tournament by 22 runs
Toni Chishi of Whiskers CC hit 45 runs off 51 balls while Atish amassed 62 off 39 balls.
Bidise and Royimkiu of Razzle United CC took 3 and 2 wickets respectively.
Changsomba of Razzlers United hit 20 runs off 21 balls while Rajesh and Jona scored 25 runs and 26 runs respectively.
Bohoto Yeptho of Whiskers CC was named Man of the match with 27 runs in 4 overs and 5 wickets.
In the second match, Dazzling Boyz CC won the toss and elected to bat.
Jalal and Abhishek were the top run scorers with 36 runs and 29 runs respectively.
Dazzling Boyz CC scored 148 runs in 20 overs for 7 wickets
Sudama Sharma of Victoria CC took 3 wickets in 4 overs with 18 runs.
However, Victoria CC fell short of the target by 50 runs and Dazzling won the second match of the tournament. Jalal of Dazzling CC was named Man of the match.
Meanwhile, Brotherhood CC was all out for 56 runs in 17.1 overs while Dimapur Royals Scored 57 runs in 5.2 overs, winning the match by 9 wickets.
The Man of the Match was Imliwati of Dimapur Royals for taking 6 wickets in 4 overs (one maiden) and 5 runs.
