CLW players and officials at the 81st All India Inter-Railway Football Championship 2026.
Maligaon, October 8 (MExN): Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) clinched the 81st All India Inter-Railway Football Championship 2026, defeating Northern Railway (NR) in the final held at the NFRSA Football Stadium, Pandu on October 7. NR finished as the runner-up, while Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) secured the third position and bronze medal.
The knockout phase of the championship, organised by the Northeast Frontier Railway Sports Association (NFRSA), was held from October 3 to 7. Eight railway teams competed in the knockout phase after qualifying through the league stage held in Chennai and Jabalpur.
The participating teams were NFR, NR, Rail Coach Factory, West Central Railway, Southern Railway, CLW, Central Railway and North Eastern Railway. NFR secured the bronze medal under the guidance of Ranjan Debbarma, Football Secretary and Coach, NFRSA.
The final and prize distribution ceremony was attended by Mohit Chandra, General Manager, CLW, and Ramesh Kumar, Additional General Manager, NFR, along with Navin Kumar Singh, PCMM/CON and General Secretary of NFRSA, and other senior railway officials. The officials appreciated the participating teams, players and officials for their sporting spirit, competitive performance and discipline throughout the championship.
