3 NSCN-K (Yung Aung) cadres killed in Arunachal

Kohima, April 27 (MExN): Three cadres of the NSCN-K (Yung Aung) were killed during a joint operation carried out by the Indian Army and Assam Rifles at Pangchao, Longding district, Arunachal Pradesh, on April 27.

According to a press release from the PRO & Spokesperson, Ministry of Defence, the operation was launched following the reported abduction of two construction workers on April 25.

Based on specific intelligence inputs, the troops launched the operation and established contact with the cadres, leading to a firefight in which three were ‘neutralised,’ it stated.

Four automatic weapons, ammunition, and other related items were  also recovered during the operation, it added. 

One of the abducted construction workers was rescued, while the search for the second is ongoing, the release further stated.
