The Chang Wedoshi Setshang (Chang Students’ Conference) and the Organising Committee, Loyem Memorial Trophy (LMT) has announced that the 30th edition of the Loyem Memorial Trophy will be held from the 3rd week of October.
CWS President, C Pongsu during a press conference held at the CWS Conference Hall on October 3 mentioned that the LMT is one of the ‘premier’ and one of the ‘highest paid’ football tournaments in the State and extended invitations to various clubs and teams for participation.
The tournament will be played in the newly constructed astro turf ground. The ground which will be known as Loyem Memorial Astro Turf Ground is the first of its kind in the district.
“The 30th edition of the LMT will be played in such a ground for the first time and we are quite sure that it will improve the quality and standard of the footballers, as well as the aesthetics of the tournament,” he maintained.
The preparation for the tournament has started from October 3 and the issuing of the registration forms will start from October 20.
Pongsu also announced that the Angami Sports Association has consented to their invitation for an exhibition against the Chang Sports Association on the opening day of the tournament.
