30th NWA Championship from March 6

Kohima, February 2 (MExN): In view of the forthcoming Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) 30th Naga Traditional Wrestling Championship & 1st Under 15 & Provisional Naga Traditional Wrestling Championship 2026 scheduled on 6 & 7 March at Khuochiezie (Kohima Local Ground), a Coordination meeting between NWA and representatives from 7 Provisional Units of NWA was held on January 31 at NWA office, Kohima

The Provisional Units includes Lotha Wrestling Association, Sumi Wrestling Association, Pochury Wrestling Association, Rengma Wrestling Association, Chang Wrestling Association, Sangtam Wrestling Association and Tikhir Wrestling Association.

NWA Joint Secretary Kuzhovesa Soho said that, for the first time after formation of newly formed wrestling Association, a separate state level Naga Traditional Wrestling championship for the provisional units will be held on March 6 along with Under 15 championship.

All provisional units will be entitled to participate in the championship with 8 wrestlers each.

The winners will be awarded cash prizes along with citations. Besides, all participating wrestlers shall also be awarded cash incentives.

The Day 2 (March 7) will witness the NWA 30th Naga Traditional Wrestling Championship.

Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio will grace the championship as the Special Guest.

Meanwhile, NWA appealed all wrestling lovers to come & witness the mega wrestling event.
