Phek Sports Association tops medal tally with 34

The four-day long 31st Sports Meet 2021 of Phek Area Sports Association (PASA) entered second day today at Tuzatsu village under Phek district.
In the 2nd round of men’s football, Lozaphuhu Sports Association defeated Kotisu Sport Association 1-0.
In Men’s basketball first round, Tuzatsu Sports Association registered win over Phek Basa Sports Association.
In the second round, Lanezho Sports Association defeated Kotisu Sports Association.
The Phek Sports Association (PSA) defeated Lanyezho Sports Association 2-1.
In women’s football, PSA defeated Phek Basa Sports Association 1-0.
Tuzatsu Sports Association registered win over Kotisu Sports Association.
In volleyball men’s first semi finals, PSA defeated Tuzatsu Sports Association.
In the 1st Naga Style Category Wrestling, Vekutho Soho and Sherayi Vero, both from Phek Sports Association emerged as champion and runner-up respectively under the category of below 86 kg.
Below 74 kg: Champion - Vekuhu Rhakho - Phek Sports Association; Runner-up - Rave Vese - Lanyezho Sports Association.
Below 65 kg: Champion- Kuluvezo Soho- Phek Sports Association; Runner-up - Mutuhu Venuh.
Luzio Venuh of PSA created a record with a jump of 5’10 in the men’s high jump event.
Meanwhile, the PSA topped the medal tally with 34 (17 Gold, 8 Silver and 9 Bronze), followed by Lozaphuhu Sports Association with 9 medals ( Gold 4, Silver 3, Bronze 2). The meet will continue till March 12.
