The four-day long 31st Sports Meet 2021 cum 1st Naga Style Category Wrestling of Phek Area Sports Association (PASA) got underway today at Tuzatsu village under Phek district.
MLA Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu formally inaugurated the tournament and urged the youth to expose their talents in the right way and take up sports professionally.
He also called upon PASA units to be more sensitive and stay connected to the latest development taking place in the sports industry.
Azo unveiled the Men’s football champion trophy in memory of late Kuvesu Nienu donated by him.
He also unveiled the group championship trophy in memory of late Thupuchiyi Khamo donated by Susatso Khamo and family.
PASA president Razoukhruyi Dozo delivered the presidential address. Phek District Sports Association (PDSA) president Nezosa Tetseo also shared greetings.
The inaugural function was chaired by PASA assistant general secretary Zhoyi Chizo while Tuzatsu village council chairman Veshehii Chizo delivered welcome address.
PASA games and sports secretary Kuveto Keyho administered oath to the participating teams.
The four-day long meet will be marked by field and track events, football, volleyball, basketball and wrestling. Hosted by Tuzatsu Youth Organization, the meet will continue till March 12.
