34 teachers conferred State Award

Apart from their normal teaching routine, the contribution of teachers in conducting free coaching classes, re-admitting the drop-outs, providing text books, uniforms and conducting co- curricular activities for the students have been received well by one and all.

Altogether, 34 teachers have been conferred with the prestigious Nagaland Teachers’ State Award today during the state level teachers’ day celebration here in recognition of their meritorious services.

Being a teacher in a financially backward area, the state award recipient Hotoshe Sema of GHS Suruhuto extended help to the needy in the form of admission fees, providing text books and uniform every year. 

Another recipient, Timothy Thong Rengma of GHS Sendenyu played an important role of re-admitting many drop-outs to the school.
Jongpongtemsu, GHS Longsa applied all appropriate applicable teaching aids that the students are enthusiastic and eager to learn. Produced subject topper in two consecutive years.

With the sincere effort of Md. Abdur Razzaque, GHS Chiechama (Transferred to GHS Peren), it stated that many misguided and drop-outs have return to school. Free coaching classes are also given.

Ajay Pratap Singh, GHS Phek village gives special attention to weaker students and free coaching is also extended.

Surya Narayan Yadav of Queen Mary School, Mokokchung, through his constant encouragement and guidance, great number of students is coming forward to take Hindi as their second language. For years, his students have been scoring the highest marks in Hindi in the district.

T. Ngailom Phom, Phom Lempong School Longleng also contributed a lot in which team teaching, personalized system of instruction and educational games are used in teaching.

A Sashila, GPS Tuli ‘C’ help the students in times of emergency and contribute cash, material and manpower.

I. Semsatula, GPS Artang provides free tuition after school and every year she pays the admission fee for two students for those who cannot afford.

K. Hotoli, GPS New Shena is responsible for taking up various co-curricular activities like knitting embroidery, cross stitch and cutting and making of flowers.

Mohammed Kamaluddin, GMS Pongkong contributed a lot in beautification of the school and tailoring is taught to girl students.

Tseilie Suohumvu, GMS Kiruphema gives coaching classes for weaker students. It is learnt that no students failed in the subjects he taught.

Every year 10 best students are selected and taken to neighbouring states for exposure trip where expenses are met from the community and teachers.

Jossy Joseph, GHSS Phek, through his contribution and active participation, the school has constructed an Auditorium Hall.

Tapan Datta Roy, Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Wokha used model, chart and other teaching materials in the class room.

S. Ramasamy, Little Flower Higher Secondary School, Kohima produced outstanding results in the HSLC exams in Maths and Advance Maths.

S.T. Rungkhel Anal, St. Stephen’s Higher Secondary School, Dimapur also occupied prominent space as the school has secured cent percent for the last five years consecutively in HSLC.

Thungchio Shitire, GHSS Dimapur, P.M Stephen, Loyola Higher Secondary School, Kiphire, Sitaram Singh, GHS Kiphire, Rosa Yanthan, GHS Englan, Lanuakum GHS Thangjam, Piyekhu Sema, GHS Kuhuboto, C.R Benerjee, Mt. Carmel School Longleng, Moangmeren, GPS Dobagoan, Yangtsapishu Sangtam, GPS Kiphire Station ‘B’, Kiphire, Yibomo Lotha, GPS Chudi, Ghukhevi, GPS Aotsakile, T. Aotsi Sangtam, GPS Nyuli, K.P Dutta, GHS Phoyisa, Z. Tzemthak Konyak, GMS Shangnyu, Chemben Phom, GMS Yotan,  Z. V. Lucas Maransa, GMS Aquba, and Thepfusatuo, PE teacher attached to DIS Kohima.

The award, which was given away by Chief Secretary Lalhuma, carries Rs. 10,000 each along with certificates.
