Dimapur, November 9 (MExN): The Ato area comprising of 11 villages along the Dimapur foothills, under the aegis of Ato Area Sports Association (AASA) under Western Sumi Sports Association (WSSA), inaugurated its 35th Ato Area Sports Meet at New Showba (Loyir) Village. AASA, President, Vito Sumi in a press release stated that the sports meet was inaugurated by Wing Commander, S Akheto Jakhalu (Vishist Seva Medal) Project Director (IAF) Nagaland, as the chief guest. In his speech, v motivated the players that sports helps a person in character building, personality, team spirit, camraderie, self discipline, humility being focused and most important leadership skills which are inherent quality of a sportsmen. He highlighted that many give ideas of taking sports as a career as Government Jobs are saturated, it is now time to do a honest introspection, deliberation and question, if adequate infrastructure, technical support, coach, vision plan and ecosystem was in place in the area to help and guide children professionally to make them compete in national and international level.
