The 3rd Astro Turf Futsal tournament organised by OLOGOC- One life, one goal, one chance Club got underway at Zasivi Futsal Arena in Jotsoma, Kohima, on March 11, with 24 teams from across the state vying for the trophy.
In the pre-quarter, today, AG boys FC, Emoji FC, Team SS FC, Bull Dog FC, Khuzaka FC, Team Crew X FC, Adroit Boys FC and Marturia FC registered wins.
During the inaugural programme, Chief patron Megosielie Punyü termed games and sports as not only about winning but also a platform to build teams through cooperation and discipline. Punyü, while asking the players to enjoy playing, reminded the players to display sportsmanship and avoid unsporting behavior or show aggression towards opponents as well as match officials. Instead, respect opponents and respect decision of match officials, he said.
He meanwhile lauded the OLOGOC Club for organizing the tournament, commenting that the tournament has been growing and enabling young and upcoming players to grow.
OLOGOC President Khriezotuo Miachieo chaired the programme. The Quarter-finals will take place on March 12 at 10:00 AM.
This year’s edition carries a total cash prize of Rs. 45,000 along with sports merchandise and certificate for Player of the Tournament and Best Goal Keeper.
