DIMAPUR, October 28 (MExN): The 3rd Gospel Football Tournament commenced today at Chozuba Town, inaugurated by Vepakho Vese, Youth Secretary of the Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBCC). The tournament, themed “Together in Christ,” is organized by the Youth Department of the Chozuba Town Baptist Church.
In his address as the guest speaker, Vepakho Vese highlighted the universal language of sports, noting its ability to transcend ages, genders, and races. He praised the Youth Department of CTBC for exemplifying the mission of sports ministry, emphasizing the importance of professionalism in sports alongside fellowship in Christ. Vese also stressed the need for Christian principles, values, and discipline in sports, suggesting that the tournament could significantly impact the youth, setting a positive example for one another.
The Gospel Football Tournament, held biannually by the Youth Department of CTBC, aims to share the goodwill and goodness of God through sports and fellowship. This year’s event features 21 teams from across the Phek District and is set to conclude on November 2 with Shri Kuzoto Vasa, Councillor of the Chozuba Town Council, serving as the valedictory speaker.
