Our Correspondent Kohima | May 12 The stage is all set for 3rd Open Penalty Shoot-Out Tournament on May 13 at D. Khel (Seikhazou) Ground, Kohima Village under the aegis of Prodigies Group. The event is aimed at providing a platform for the youth to have a positive and uplifting experience, to promote professional football players and clubs and share the stage with them, and to create new and strong partnerships with local business communities to sponsor opportunities for people to participate in well-established sporting events. The organisers also expressed hope that the youth departments in the various churches will participate in the tournament and have an exciting and innovative fellowship through sports. The champions of the tournament will be awarded cash prize of Rs. 30,000 sponsored by Vuto Motors, Kohima while NV Press Kohima will sponsor the prize for the runner-up amounting to Rs. 20,000. Modicare Kohima will sponsor the third prize amounting to Rs. 10,000. Active Station, High School, Kohima will sponsor the 4th prize amounting to Rs. 5000 and also the prize for the best goal keeper (gift coupon worth Rs.5000). The tournament will be played on a knock-out basis. The event will also witness sale of sporting goods and jerseys, accessories and also a food stall to cater to the event. Prodigies Group consists of 15 members from Khedi Baptist Church Kohima, with a zeal for serving the Lord through various undertakings and charitable works. From the diversities in their personal professions and trades they came together as a group to exalt God in “all the ways He has blessed us.” In the process of searching for some new ways of fellowship, Prodigies Group initiated this open penalty shoot-out tournament.
