4 cr embezzlement-accused clarifies

DIMAPUR, NOV 25 (MExN): Tusher Bhadra, who has been accused of swindling more than 4 crores from the NEZCC, KOMUL and other investors, has denied the charges against him as reported in the local dailies.

In a rejoinder, Bhadra stated that although anguished and distressed at the news reports, there was no option for him but to refrain from offering comments in order to clear the ‘misgivings’ and accusations since the case was sub-judice and investigations were still on. He regretted that the choicest of expletives have been used to malign his family and bring his integrity into disrepute.

Bhadra maintained that he was not a self-styled General Secretary of Leafin India depositors Association. He maintained that he was also an elected Vice-President of the All India body of the same and as such he was fully authorized to act in that capacity.

In this regard Bhadra claimed that he had filed a suit against Leafin India Limited, a Hyderabad NBFC, for the recovery of depositors’ money and that it was only after filing of the same that the court issued directives, forcing the company to release certain amount of money as well as issue commitment to clear other dues as well. In this regard he stated that had there an iota of truth in the unsubstantiated and baseless allegations against him, he would not have fought the said case ‘so doggedly’ for the last five years to protect and secure the interest of the ‘hapless’ depositors. He also made mention that the Nagaland association was an affiliate of the ball India body at Hyderabad.

In this case he maintained that there was an engineered conspiracy to impose a case on him to divest the real issue of the ongoing case against the company at the cost of the depositors. “Despite heavy odds I shall continue to serve the interest of the depositors who have reposed their faith in me and with full confidence in the independence of the Judiciary and the ability of the Investigation agency, I shall prove my innocence in the days to come” he affirmed.
