4 held for illegal collection in Dimapur

Morung Express News Dimapur | June 14   Four persons were arrested in three illegal monetary collection related cases in Dimapur district on June 14. In the first incident, two youths in their early 20’s were apprehended by the Medziphema Town Youth Organisation for collecting money from truckers near MK Assertion Station, Tsiepama at around 10:00 am. According to the police, the two youths identified as Rokongulie Rakho and Rukuzo Kezo were collecting money in the name of the NSCN-R. One leaflet of cash receipt was confiscated from their possession.

  In the second incident, the Anti Extortion Team (AET) of the Dimapur police nabbed one Kawato Aye at Dhobinullah at around 12pm. The man was caught handing out ‘cash/information (demand) slips’ in the name of the NSCN-R. Four booklets of ‘cash/information’ coupons and a handwritten ‘demand note’ reportedly issued by a ‘Deputy Kilonser, Finance incharge, Dimapur’ were confiscated from his possession.   Later, at around 2pm, the AET arrested another man, who was collecting money from vegetable vendors at New Market. According to the police, the man, identified as one Vihoto Yeptho (30 years) was arrested subsequent to a complaint received from the public. He was reportedly collecting cash in the name of the NSCN-IM. Cash amounting to Rs. 3090 was recovered from his possession.
