Newmai News Network Imphal | March 30 Four persons, including 3 girls, were killed in separate road accidents in Manipur in the past 24 hours. The road accidents took place at Khangabok bazaar of Thoubal district, Oinam bazaar of Bishnupur district and the third near Tamenglong Khunjao of Tamenglong district. In the accident that occurred at Khangabok bazaar, a 14-year-old girl was killed and her grandmother injured after they were hit by sand-laden truck. The girl died on the spot while her grandmother was critically injured. It occurred around 8:00 pm on March 29. As per eyewitness accounts, the truck rammed a roadside shop before it hit the two pedestrians. The police have registered a case regarding the incident. At the Oinam Bazaar accident, two sisters, both students studying in nursery and class 1, died after they were hit by a passenger bus at around 11:30 am, Thursday. The bus was heading towards Moirang when the accident occurred. The driver along with the bus surrendered to the police. In Tamenglong district, one person was killed and four others injured, after a truck in which they were travelling in met with an accident today near Tamenglong Khunjao. The incident took place around 12 noon, a police report informed. The ill-fated Tata truck was carrying 17 persons returning from Tamenglong bazaar after attending a function to inaugurate a new building in the district headquarters. It was heading for Namtiram village along Tamenglong-Namtiram road when the fatal mishap occurred. Among the injured, condition of two are stated to be serious. They were admitted to Tamenglong District Hospital. Earlier on March 27, 22 people were killed and several injured in three separate major road mishaps that occurred on National Highway 2 and National Highway 37 connecting Manipur.
