“This 40 Days of Revival is an invitation to unity because it is creating a platform for different denominations and tribes. There is a spirit of inclusiveness and seeing different pastors and churches participating are very encouraging and a big step towards working together,” Kevi Kevichusa, Pastor, Kingdom Culture Church said while sharing about her belief for Nagaland through this revival.

Organized by the Sinai Ministry based in Dimapur, the 40 Days of Revival is held with the theme ‘Awake, Arise, Shine’ (Ephesians 5:14) from March 11 to April 19. The revival is also ‘celebrating the 150 years of Christianity in Nagaland.’ The services are held across different churches and venues in Dimapur.

Heal divisions
Citing reasons why this Revival is an opportunity to heal division among the Naga people, Founder and Director of Peace Channel, Father CP Anto said, “the 40 Days of Revival was a momentum created to bring the youth and young adult to experience the Lord in their personal life and that touching moment of the Lord has brought them healing and harmony in the individual, family and societal life.”

“...what we are doing is in complete obedience to what God has instructed us to do during a time of prayer and fasting on February 11, 2022,” said Sinai Ministry, Director Wabang Longchari. “But I truly believe that what we are seeing right now in 40 Days of Revival is just a tip of an iceberg, I am sensing something bigger, and we have not seen the bigger picture yet,” he added.

Bring healing
Talking about what it means to pray to bring healing to the church and land (Nagaland), Father Anto believes it “means to bring all people together in love as brothers and sisters of God's people of Nagaland and reconcile with the past hurts and pain.”

He said, “If those hurts are not transformed are going to be transferred to our next generation. So we need to pray hard for unity and understanding among ourselves that God may bring lasting solutions to our problems.”

Pastor Kevi, who is also one of the speakers for the revival said, “An area in need of healing is the suspicion with which churches view each other.” She affirmed that “This revival is an opportunity for us to step out and learn to trust one another. Healing for the land would include forgiving those (especially the Armed Forces) who have used their might to oppress, abuse and kill many defenseless Nagas.”

Meanwhile, Pastor Lulu Kiso of Baptist Revival Church, Dimapur viewed that “There is so much corruption in the land and it’s beyond control. Politics have crept into the church and there is disunity because everyone is looking out for their own interests. We need to pray for God to bring healing by uniting us.” Towards this, he said that “Revival always brings new vision and this will propel the younger generation with a fresh commitment and passion to share God’s love to others.”

According to pastor Wabang, “Every right thinking citizen knows that there is an urgency for a transformation in our land and in every system whether it is spiritual or socially.”

“To pray for healing in church and land simply means for good governance- spiritually, socially and economically.  We are praying for unity, peace and love to prevail in our Land,” he stated.

Hope for future
Through this 40 Days of Revival, pastor Kevi said her hope is that the younger generation would find “hope for a better Nagaland.”

“Also for all of us to learn from our revival history and the stories of those who went before us, and finally a future we can all contend and believe for,” she added.

Pastor Wabang put across that his hope is ‘the younger generation will not eat the fruit of disobedience of the past generation.’ “My desire for the younger generation is to let them see and experience the power of prayer and worship. My prayer is that every sons and daughters of the soil will take responsibility and stand in the gap for a better and healed Nagaland. We are praying for Godly leaders to rise up from the present and upcoming generation,” he stated.

While congratulating the Sinai Ministry for creating a momentum through the Revival, Father Anto prayed that ‘many more great miracles will happen though such noble initiatives.’ “I am highly pleased and impressed by the way the youth get involved in revitalizing and reviving the families and communities,” Father Anto said.

“I strongly believe that 40 Days of Revival can bring a great transformation and healing in our society starting from the church to social and Naga political issues as the Holy Spirit enable us for the conviction of our sins. We will continue to pray, ‘Lord, Do It Again!’” Rev Moses Murry, Bethesda Assemblies of God Church affirmed.

The last five days (April 15 to 19) will be held at the football ground, Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Riverbelt Colony from 5:00 pm onwards.
