Mokokchung, August 20 (MExN): Celebrating India @75 Azaadi Ki Amrit Mahotsav, a district rural road seminar was organized by PWD (R&B), Mokokchung Division at ADC’s Conference Hall on August 20.
During the seminar, Minister PWD (Housing & Mechanical) Tongpang Ozukum disclosed that in the state under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) since the inception of the project till July 2021, a total of 4382.05 KM road length was been sanctioned under PMGSY-1.
A DIPR report stated that gracing the occasion as special guest, Ozukum, in his address maintained that the PMGSY was launched with the primary objective to provide connectivity by way of all-weather road to the eligible unconnected habitations in the rural areas. He also called upon all the stakeholders for their cooperation in all the projects undertaken by the government.
Technical paper presentations were made on the following topics: use of New Technology in Rural Road construction; Implementation of PMGSY-III scheme and Role of PMGSY in development of respective rural areas was delivered by Er Atoba, EE PWD (R&B) Mokokchung Division and Er Chubatoshi, EE PWD (R&B) Mangkolemba Division.
The seminar was attended by the Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung, Administrative officers, officials from Department of Rural Development, PWD (R&B) and village council members. It was chaired by Addl. Chief Engineer, PWD (R&B) Mokokchung Zone Er K Hukato Assumi. Vote of thanks was proposed by SDO PWD (R&B) Mokokchung Division, Er Imtitoshi.
