44th NASA meet underway

Players being introduced to Azheto Chophi, the chief guest of inaugural function of the NASA meet at Niuland Town on Monday.
DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 25 (MExN): The 44th annual meet of the Niuland Area Sports Association (NASA) started today at Niuland Town ground. At the inaugural function, Azheto Chophi, Advisor to Collective Leadership, GPRN/NSCN unfurled the association flag as chief guest besides kicking off the 44h Hovishe Memorial Football Trophy and the 3rd Henito Chishi Memorial Men's Volleyball Trophy.
Speaking on the occasion, Azheto Chophi said peace and unity among Naga people is the need at this juncture when all people are yearning for peace and for lasting solution of the Naga political issue which is at its final stages of the talk. He referred to 'Goal for peace' - the motto of the association and implored upon the people to promote and uphold peace among the people through sports which plays important roles in building friendship.
Encouraging the youth to be ambitious and to work hard in pursuit of their ambition, the chief guest urged the younger generation must equip themselves with positive changes to be at par with others.
Tokali Yeptho, Associate Pastor Youth, Hovishe Baptist Church chaired the inaugural function which commenced with invocation prayer said by Rev. Xuvishe Zhimo, Pastor Kuhoxu Baptist Church. Katoho Hollo, head GB, Hovishe spoke on behalf of trophy donors. Kiyeto Yeputho, President NASA, Kughazhe Kiba GB, Niuland Town and Kakuho Yeputho, Head GB K. Hetoi and Advisor NASA were others who spoke on the occasion.
Vivi Yeptho of Kiyezu 'B' serenaded the occasion with a beautiful song while P. Vizheto presented men folk dance and mothers group of Niuland presented a cultural song.
Zheito Tuccu Advisor, NASA proposed vote of thanks for the inaugural function. Samuel Chophy, Games Secretary, NASA conducted oath taking for the participating teams.
