450 nursing students converge at 4th SNAI Nagaland meet

Chümoukedima, May 3 (MExN): Fostering the objective of promoting professional growth, strengthen leadership capabilities and boosting academic excellence among nursing students, the Student Nurses’ Association of India (SNAI), Nagaland Branch under the umbrella of the Trained Nurses’ Association of India (TNAI), Nagaland Branch, held its 4th SNAI Meet on April 29 and 30 at The Refuge Retreat Centre, Murise Village, Chümoukedima. 

Hosted by Health Nursing School, Singrijan, Dimapur, the event prominently hailed the theme “Learning Today, Leading Tomorrow: The Journey of a Nursing Student.”

The delegates were welcomed by Kewekhate-u Dazo, Principal, Health Nursing School, Dimapur. S Tiakala Longkumer, President, TNAI, Nagaland Branch declared the event and addressed the delegates with her presidential speech while the theme was presented by Philanim Shimray, State SNAI Advisor. 

Encompassing a diverse lineup of activities including personality contest, quiz, poster presentations, essay writing competitions, dance performances, cultural showcases, sports and literary events which were all designed to engage and showcase the talents of nursing students, the two-day event drew a wide participation, totaling around 450 delegates from nine schools and colleges of nursing across Nagaland. 

The valedictory session was graced by Dr Kuveduyi Theyo, Medical Superintendent, District Hospital, Dimapur. He applauded the nurses for being the backbone of the health care system with their qualities of selflessness, compassion, love and dedication. He further stressed the importance of pursuing higher education to maintain and elevate the standard of the profession. 

The participants were awarded for their performances in various activities at the conclusion of the event with Rudra Ramuali, Pastor, Gorkha Baptist Church, Singrijan offering a special prayer and benediction.
