The 2019-2021 batch of graduates with faculty and special guests during the 6th Graduation -Cum- Foundation Day of NEISSR.

Dimapur, October 29 (MExN): The North East Institute of Social Sciences & Research (NEISSR) held its 6th Graduation -Cum- Foundation Day at DBIDL Don Bosco Campus, Dimapur. Vice- Chancellor of St Joseph University, Dimapur attended the programme as chief guest while Principal of Tetso College Dr Hewasa L Khing was the special guest.
According to a press release from the institute on Friday, the programme began with the academic procession led by Livino S Zhimo, President of NEISSR. This was followed by an invocation prayer by Dr Fr Sebastian, SDB and a welcome address from NEISSR Principal and Founder and Director of Peace Channel Dr Fr CP Anto.
In his speech, Rev Anto congratulated the graduands of the 2019 batch and said that 49 students from the 2019-2021 batch had successfully qualified for post graduate degrees in Masters of Social Work. He reminded the students to have self-confidence and be social entrepreneurs who will be bringing changes into the society at large.
Chief guest Prof Dr D Gnanadurai began his speech by congratulating the graduands and spoke on the importance of social work. The release stated that he encouraged the social workers to create peaceful work, to serve with love and courage, and to be the source of hope to the society while laying emphasis on emotional intelligence and emotional balance.
While congratulating the students, Dr Hewasa L Khing said that graduation marks the end of one chapter, and the beginning of new journey. She encouraged the graduands to set aside what they cannot do, and instead, focus on controlling what they can do. She mentioned that to make it into today's world, they have to be agile and flexible. Stating that education is a tool to change the world and it can empower and transform people, Dr Khing shared a brief educational journey of her father, late Dr PS Lorin, to encourage the younger generation to achieve even greater heights and to use their education and learning to transform the world around them.
Keneisevor Chalieu, Former Vice President, SCSC-NEISSR gave a speech on behalf of the outgoing batch 2019-2021 while Sungjemtola Jamir, Assistant Professor, NEISSR, felicitated the 49 graduates of 2019-2021. The Best Student was awarded to Nikhini Mosow, the release stated.
Meanwhile, the annual magazine and block placement brochure of NEISSR was released by Prof Dr D Gnanadurai and the newly composed NEISSR anthem was released by Dr Hewasa L Khing. In conclusion, Dr Toli H Kiba, Assistant Professor, NEISSR gave the vote of thanks and the programme ended with benediction by Rev FrChacko Karinthayil, it added.
