Bhandari, March 8 (MExN): The 4th edition of Bhandari Inter-departmental Sports Meet 2022 started on March 8 at local ground, Bhandari with Additional Deputy Commissioner Bhandari, Rohit Singh gracing the inaugural function.
The first day saw two football matches, where the combined team of PWD (R&B) (EE Baghty), Housing, and PHED defeated the Education department by 2-0, while District Administration & Police team defeated the combined team of Medical, GHSS, and Soil & Water Conservation departments 7-0.
Speaking at the inaugural function, ADC Singh said it was encouraging to witness a continued effort by the government servants of the sub-division to hold the sports meet under the aegis of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao to spread awareness on gender violence and discrimination against women.
The meet is also held to pledge support to women's progress and development in all dimensions of life.
He also stated that such a sporting platform allows exhibiting one's talents and also promotes the spirit of cooperation to accomplish a common goal together, a DIPR report informed.
SDAO Office Baghty, Senkathung Kikon also presented a special number in the event chaired by Lily Ngullie, APRO Bhandari.
