WOKHA, NOVEMBER 18 (MExN): The 4th Inter Club Cricket Tournament 2024-25, organized by the Wokha District Cricket Association (WDCA) under the aegis of the Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA), began on November 18 at the local ground in Wokha. President of the SNK, Penthungo Lotha, attended the opening ceremony as the special guest.
The tournament opened with an intense match between Royal Tribals and EYL. Winning the toss, Royal Tribals opted to bat but managed to score only 47 runs in 13.3 overs of the allotted 20. EYL’s disciplined bowling attack dismissed the team in just 6.2 overs. EYL secured a resounding nine-wicket victory, with Renben Kikon earning the Man of the Match title.
In the second match, Maverix CC claimed a narrow win over Comets CC, edging them out by 15 runs in the final over.
Chumthungo Kikon of Maverix CC was named Man of the Match for his performance.
The event brought together cricket enthusiasts and players, with the special guest and officials from the WDCA joining the teams for a commemorative photograph during the opening ceremony.
The tournament is set to continue with more matches in the coming days.
