Mokokchung, September 30 (MExN): The 4th Inter-Departmental Sports Meet 2026 was inaugurated at the Multipurpose Stadium, Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung, on September 29.
The three-day meet features indoor and outdoor events including carrom, arm wrestling, badminton, table tennis, futsal, penalty shootouts and athletics.
Addressing the participants as the special invitee, Ao Senden President Marsanen Imsong encouraged the players to uphold team spirit and sportsmanship, describing the meet as an opportunity to strengthen friendship, unity and cooperation among government employees.
Referring to the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, he said achieving the goal would require the collective efforts of citizens and government departments.
He also encouraged participants to make responsible use of public infrastructure, embrace technology and innovation, and provide public services with compassion.
Mokokchung Deputy Commissioner and chief host of the event, Ajit Kumar Verma described the sports meet as a platform to promote physical well-being among government employees and foster interaction and coordination among different departments.
The inaugural programme was chaired by APC, DRDA, Dr Temsumenla Longkumer, while ADC Mokokchung and event convenor Atsungba Walling delivered the welcome address, informed the State DIPR.
