WOKHA, JANUARY 11 (MExN): The inaugural function of the 4th Lotha Women Volleyball Tournament was held at Wokha, Local Ground today. It is being organized by the Wokha District Lotha Women Sports Association.
President of WDLWSA, Merilo Tungoe in her welcome address welcomed all the nine teams from various parts of the district to the tournament and stressed on the importance of the participation of women folks in the field of games and sportsand the need to take up sports professionally. The function was graced by Mhalo Yanthan, Women Leader (WTBC), who also declared the tournament open.
The first match saw Home Makers defeat Women’s Club Wokha Village in straight sets 25-13, 25-13. In the second match, Mt. Morashen Club, Old Riphyim defeated Chumpo Women F.C. Koio in straight 25-10, 25-13.
In the evening match, Wokha Town Yanthamo Women Sports Association dominated Yanthamo Village Team 25-14, 25-8.
