Men’s champion team of the 4th edition of Lt Bishop Abraham Volleyball Tournament along with chief guest on October 5.
Wokha, October 5 (MExN): The 4th edition of Lt Bishop Abraham Volleyball Tournament organised by Nagaland Catholic Youth Movement concluded on October 5 with St John the Evangelist Parish, Khonoma as the champion in men's category and St Francis De Sales Parish Tening as the champion in women’s category.
A press release received here stated that the runner up in men’s category was claimed by Mary Help of Christians Parish, Jakhama while St John the Evangelist Parish Khonoma claimed the runners up trophy in women's category.
The champion of the tournament in both male and female categories received Rs 50,000, citation and trophy while the runners up in both categories received Rs 30,000, citation and trophy.
Speaking as the special guest, Elias T Lotha, Transport Commissioner, Government of Nagaland and Advisor Catholic Association of Nagaland (CAN) urged the participants to be ambassadors of goodwill and attend to the need of another person.
Delivering the greetings, C James Ezung, President, Lotha Catholic Union (LCU) encouraged the players to uphold the good spirit of sportsmanship and to take sports to greater heights by remembering the legacy Bishop Abraham.
Earlier the programme also witnessed choreography from class 9 and 10 students of DBHSS, Wokha. Vote of thanks was delivered by Neiphrenuo Genevieve and the programme was hosted by Lochumbeni Kikon and Paul Magh.
