•-Sharing some few thoughts on the incident that happened on 20th May, 2011 at Senapati, I wish to place some factual points for public consideration.
That,
1. The incident involving the 5AR has “seriously disturbed the serenity and peaceful environment” of the general public of Senapati District. Because, it’s been while, the District has been relieved from any kinds of public uprising and mob situation.
2. The high handedness and arrogant nature of a 5AR officer speaks of the sincerity and competence of the Assam Rifles in the District. Is it a public stunt or solely for his promotion and record books?? If so, kindly go to those naxal hit areas or J&K for any adventurous moves.
3. It is observed & reported that, previous 5AR officers has unleashed different forms of provoking incidents and here the 5 AR Major is not different to his predecessors. He has been on the prowl since many days to create a warlike situation with provocative nature of frisking in the main Senapati market area, raiding houses, harassing men folks, imposing directives, interrogating the national workers with mere identification and other unwanted activities.
4. Proving myself, this 5AR officer has a bitter record of even frisking in front of the UNC office, SDSA office, NPO office, main market areas aftermath the failure of the army to organize the so called NE Youth Festival in Senapati District ground. That is how the 5AR exercise their displeasure against the people?
5. It is an appeal to the 5AR to uphold the glorious name of being a true ‘Friends of the Hills’ rather than revive those old attitude of anti-camouflaged uniform mentality of the people.
