5 bills passed, Speaker adjourns Assembly session

Kohima, August 24 (DIPR): As all the business listed for the Twelfth Session of the Tenth Assembly was concluded today, the Speaker, Kiyanilie Peseyie adjourned the House Sine Die at the end of the morning session. The session was originally slated to last till August 25.

During its two day session the House witnessed some lively debates specially on the issue of affiliation of private school of hill districts in Manipur and failure of observing Independence Day at the designated venue at Tuensang. Besides passing the historic Resolution in connection with Article 371 A (1) of the Constitution of India, the house also passed five bills namely:

1.    The Nagaland Women Commission Bill, 2006

2.    The Nagaland Municipal (First Amendment) Bill, 2006

3.    Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India University (Nagaland) Bill 2006.

4.    Global Open University (Nagaland) Bill 2006

5.    The Nagaland Appropriation (No. 3) Bill 2006.
