Five Nagaland Police Service officers have been promoted to the Indian Police Service and allocated the Nagaland cadre. The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a notification on January 7 informing of the promotions. The promoted NPS officers included James Kinghen, Teisovise Metha, H Kuhovi Sema, M Rhovisie Nyuwi and Rankathung Vikram Ezung. The said officers will remain on probation for a period of one year, as per the IPS Service (Probation) Rules.
The Nagaland Police NPS directory, as on November 2024, stated that Kinghen, Metha, Nyuwi and Ezung entered the service in September 1997. Kuhovi Sema’s entry was in November 1993.
As per the same directory, there are two other officers, whose date of entry into service has been recorded as March 1994.
