Kohima, November 7 (MExN): On the occasion of World Sunday School Day, 55 students graduated from Sunday School (Knights Templar class) to the youth department at Chakhesang Baptist Church Ministers’ Hill Kohima (CBCMHK) on November 7. A graduation ceremony was held for them in the afternoon devotional service at the church with Zaseto Sasü, chaplain of Mount Sinai Higher Secondary School Kohima as main speaker.

Congratulating the students, Sasü said they have reached an important milestone in the journey of the Lord. This is not the end but there are many milestones to cover, he said, adding, “Where you are right now is because of the grace of God. It is a result of God’s faithfulness and teachers’ investment and effort in your life.”

Sasü also cautioned the students of the dangers of technology, stating “We should use technology but if reached a point of abusing it, it can become very dangerous.” Conversely, technology is an excellent tool to gain knowledge and connect with friends from far places, he said. “But, if not careful, there is a danger for our minds to be so distracted that we will fail to pay attention to whatever is pure and true,” he cautioned. Even as one engaged and consumes the limitless information on a daily basis, it is shaping a person. “What we feed our mind shapes our behaviour and characters. It is our actions that flow from our thoughts,” he pointed out.

As Christians, it is important to guard one’s heart and to consider what is coming from the heart and mind, Sasü said, lamenting that purity is an idea that is getting thrown out in the society today and called upon the congregation to pay attention to this area of purity. Earlier, Rev Pusazo Chüzho prayed for the students; Assistant Superintendent, Sunday School Department Küvelü Phesao led the service while Mütünelü Tetseo spoke on behalf of the graduating batch. Meanwhile, CBCMHK Youth department will hold a welcome programme for the graduating students on November 13.
