The 55th sports meet of Secheku Range Sports Association (SRSA) got underway today at Tsupfume village under Phek district.

Veyielo Doulo, Deputy Director, Department of Tourism Nagaland graced the opening ceremony as the special guest and declared the tournament open.

Touching on this year’s theme ‘Bringing out the best in each other,’ Doulo urged upon the youth to make the best use of their talents and adopt healthy competition.

Phek District Sports Association (PDSA) President, Nezosa Tetseo also shared greetings. He informed that the PDSA 2021 meet will take place in the last week of March.

SRSA President Puwezo Tsühah said that Secheku is a conglomeration of 12 affiliated units. Sports is all about friendship, understanding and building a wall of peace and unity, Tsühah said.

SRSA General Secretary Wedepe L Mero chaired the inaugural function while Tsüpfume Village Council Chairman Ngonyi Lea delivered the welcome address.

SRSA Games and Sports Secretary Lecho Krocha administered the oath to the participating teams.

The meet will feature field and track events, football, volleyball, basketball and wrestling. The tourney will conclude on March 6 with Colo Mero, Director Life Ministries Nagaland as valedictory guest.
