Kohima, October 24 (MExN): The 5th Open Kohima District Volleyball Championship 2017 for men and women under the theme "Transcending Through Sports” will begin from November 25- 30 at Kohima Local Ground.
Announcing this during the meeting of Kohima District Volleyball Association (KDVA along with organizing committee on October 23, KDVA officials said that a total prize money of Rs. 1.30 lakhs have been set for the forthcoming Championship.
Interested clubs, teams, colonies/wards, army, CRPF, police, schools, colleges, villages and churches within Kohima District willing to take part in the tournament may collect entry form which will be made available soon at the three sport outlets, namely Sports World, Main Town, Star Sports, BOC and Northern Sports below CANSSEA Office Kohima. KDVA further informed that entry fee for each team will be Rs. 3000 while the last date for submission of form is November 20.
KDVA stated that it will also select players from the participating teams for both men's and women's teams during the tournament to represent Kohima District at the forthcoming inter-district based 1st Nagaland Olympics to be held at Dimapur in December.
