60 MLAS must step down for Indo- Naga Political Settlement: BJP Nagaland

DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 29 (MExN): The Nagaland State BJP unit had its office bearers meeting on 29th December 2012 at Dimapur Party head office and reiterated its earlier press statement that the Joint Legislators Forum (JLF) comprising of 60 members both from NPF and Congress must step down from the present position in the interest of Naga political solution and concentrate only till a solution is arrived at.

A press note from K. James Vizo, Spokesman and General Secretary BJP stated that the party was of the view that if the JLF are so concerned for the Nagas, they should all step down first, so that the Government of India as well as the Naga public will be convinced about the seriousness of their initiative. “For actions speak louder than words”, stated the press note.

Pointing out that the people have suffered enough during the long political struggle, the Nagaland BJP stated that people want complete solution which will be acceptable to various sections of the people.

“It is clearly evident that people do not want piece-meal solutions at this juncture as this had repeatedly failed to provide lasting peace and development. Responding to this need, the JLF has to seriously act according to how they have assured the public to pave the way for lasting solutions”, the BJP Nagaland stated.

The party has also urged that the UPA Government  at the  Centre should come with positive action as the  Naga political  issue remain unresolved for the past more than 60 years.
