60 MLAs should resign immediately: BJP

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 11 (MExN): The Nagaland unit of the BJP has stated that every Naga was aware that a solution to the Naga issue “is at our door step”. However “we could not unite for the solution”. In this regard the BJP viewed that both the Congress and NPF have the same policy and program and that they have been harping on stepping down, “if an alternative government can be arranged”.

“In such a case, all the 60 legislatures should resign immediately, so that to pave the way for solution”, stated the BJP Nagaland in a press note issued by its Vice President K. Medom Angami. Furthermore, the BJP wanted both the Congress and NPF not to “appease and confuse the Nagas anymore”.

“As advice by the government of India, meeting the central leaders again and again is embarrassment to all the Nagas”, the BJP stated that the central Government had been saying that Nagas must be united first for any solution. “Without uniting the civil societies and factions, meeting the GOI will not have any credence to solve the Naga issue”.

The BJP Nagaland Unit has nevertheless appreciated the JLF for their proposed visit to Delhi to meet the Union Home Minister in order to bring early solution while pointing out that this was a good gesture.
