60th Annual Council of Chakhesang Baptist Church Council

Dimapur, January 24 (MExN): The Chakhesang Baptist Church Council successfully concluded its 60th session from January 21 to 23 with the theme:  “Being rooted in the Word of God”. The session was hosted by the Lekromi Baptist Church which was attended by all the 94 churches under CBCC. A total number of 567 delegates including speakers and CBCC staff along with students and staff of Baptist Theological College, Pfutsero, attended the annual meet.
On January 21, the Session started with the unfurling of the CBCC and unit flags by the council president , Nugnoyi Khusoh.
The opening gospel service was led by Rev. Akha Shupao,council vice president. The Lekromi Sunday school children of Dimapur presented a colourful and mixed item welcoming the delegates to Lekromi village which followed the welcome address by pastor Neikhrope Kapfo, while roll call and adoption of the programme was undertaken by Rev. Vezopa Tetseo, executive secretary CBCC. The speaker, Nungoyi Khusoh stressed on the theme: “Being rooted in the Word of God”. Special praises was presented by the choir and benediction pronounced  by Kevekhalo Lasuh, pastor, CBC, Sugar Mill, Dimapur.
On the second day, the day started with a Bible Study led by Husazulu Chuzho. The day focused mostly on presentation of reports and discussions. In the evening, the gospel service was led by Khrope Chiero,council recording secretary. A special offering was dedicated to Chakhesang youth and blessed Vekhoyi Lohe, pastor, Tehephu B/C. The speaker, Suluveyi Rhakho spoke on the topic: “The Word of God-its authenticity and authority”and the benediction by Husapa  Ruho, pastor,Upper Kho B/C
On the third day, the Bible study was led by Kethovino Rhakho. The morning gospel service was led by the pastor and special praises presented by the hosting church and BTC choirs. The offering was blessed by Zhievesa Nienu, pastor, Phek Basa B/C. The speaker, Rev. Dr. Phuveyi Dozo spoke on the topic:  “The Word of God-its relevance for all people and Ages”. A time of farewell and felicitation followed, where the two outgoing promising and dynamic leaders Vesalu Swuro, women secretary, CBCC andKuzuveyo Puro, finance promoter, CMS delivered short speeches. The benediction was pronounced by Vekusa Lohe, Pastor, Chozuba Town B/C, which later was followed by the flag down ceremony.
The evening gospel service was led by the council president. The BTC choir presented praise and offertory prayer led by Rev. L. Ritse, pastor, Pfutseromi B/C. Rev. Khrotso Mero spoke on the message: “The word of God- its power of renewal and transformation.” The installation of Neingupeu Kazhie as CBCC women secretary took place along with the new council office bearers : Rev. D. N. Soho as president, Rev Dr. Weyiete Lohe as vice president, Vekuso Swuro as recording secretary, Wepre Mero as joint recording secretary, and John Lohe as the PRO of BTC. The session concluded with a benediction pronounced by Ngupelhi Lomi, chairman KABCC.
The CBCC while appreciating the hosting church also resolved to declare the year 2011 as a 'Mission Awakening Year'.
